Other Ways to Help: Programs

MEDICAL EFFORTS

While many of us are isolating ourselves in our homes, doctors, nurses, and other first responders are working extremely hard every day to treat patients that have contracted COVID-19. Visit this page to learn more about ways to help these heroes today. Give back to those who are working to save lives every day!

ELDERLY AND IMMUNOCOMPROMISED

For many healthier and younger individuals, it’s easy to leave your home and take a socially distanced walk with a friend. For older and immunocompromised individuals, this is not always a safe possibility. Consider taking a look at these efforts to help support those who are more isolated in these times. Even a small action can really make a difference. Let someone know who might be struggling that you’re thinking of them!

EDUCATION

With schools canceled, many vulnerable students are left without educational guidance. A large percentage of American families with school-age children do not have functioning WiFi access, making it almost impossible for students to keep up with their studies. Consider taking a look at some of these resources to give back to the children struggling in our school systems.

MENTAL HEALTH

Many of us find happiness in friends and family. In these times of social isolation, it can be really hard to feel connected with others. Both people with existing mental health conditions and those without them are struggling mentally in these times. Take a look at some of the resources on this page to help support your friends and family around you, no matter how far apart you may be!

AID TO THE HOMELESS

Being stuck inside is hard for everyone, but it’s especially hard for those who don’t have a stable home life. Homeless adults and children are struggling to an even larger extent than normal, and they need your help. There are tons of easy ways to give back to this community in need, and you can do them all from the safety and comfort of your home. Keep this vulnerable community in mind, and be sure to check out ways to help!

RESTAURANTS AND MEALS

With the spread of COVID-19, many restaurants have had to make the difficult decision to temporarily close. This causes difficulties for their businesses, and many restaurants are forced to close their operations permanently. Find out more regarding how to support local restaurants by clicking here!

STAY INFORMED

It’s important to stay up to date on the news in times like these, where there is so much misinformation out there. Especially with primary elections coming up in many states, it’s important to know how/when you can vote! Be sure to check this page in order to get current, up-to-date information on what’s going on from reputable sources.

ANIMALS

Animals need your help during this time, too! Shelters are emptier than they have been in years with so many people adopting and fostering dogs. It’s a great way to give back and do something that’ll bring happiness to you and your family, as well!
